When and where is HackBeanpot 2020?
HackBeanpot 2020 is from February 7-9, 2020 at Catalant Technologies in the Seaport district of Boston.
How do I apply?
Unfortunately, applications for our 2020 hackathon are closed. Sign up for our newsletter here to learn more about the event and stay tuned for 2021!
I don't have a lot of programming experience. Are hackathons for me?
Yes! People of all experience levels attend HackBeanpot. If you get stuck, we have mentors to provide assistance. We care much more about fostering a fun learning environment than an environment that only attracts experienced hackers. Our blog advice for first-time hackathon attendees can be found here and here.
I am a student from ____. Is HackBeanpot open to students from my school?
Yes! HackBeanpot is open to any student who is at least 16 years old. If you will be under 18 by February 7, 2020, please contact [email protected] to fill out extra paperwork beforehand.
Do you provide travel reimbursements?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide travel reimbursements.
Are there limits on team size?
No limits! However, prizes are budgeted for teams of 5 and under so we recommend at most 5 members per team.
Should I bring my resume?
There is no need! You can upload your resume when you apply and we'll pass it along to sponsoring companies.
Can I work on an old project?
Working on an existing project is ok, but you won't be eligible for prizes.
Will food be provided?
YES, meals and snacks will be provided throughout the entire weekend!
What should I bring?
HackBeanpot is an overnight hackathon, so we recommend bringing a laptop, charger, phone, toothbrush, and anything else you'd normally bring to an overnight event. We also wrote a blog post about what to bring.
I have a dietary restriction. Will there be food for me?
Yup! Just make a note about your dietary restriction on the application; we'll make sure you're covered.
